Withover 40 different tribes represented, the American Indian EducationProgram of Marysville serves approximately 1,700 American Indianstudents in the Yuba-Sutter Bi-County area. The majority of our studentsare of Cherokee, Choctaw, or Maidu descent.

Parents,students, teachers, counselors or administrators can request ourservices. We serve all Native American students in grades Pre, K-12 inthe Yuba-Sutter bi-county area.

Our Goal

Thegoal of the American Indian Education Program of Marysville is toprovide students with the opportunity to become engaged in theeducational process by:

  • mastering basic skills
  • becoming knowledgeable about their cultural heritage
  • strengthening their ability to make good choices for their future

We plan to accomplish this by:

  • offering academic assistance
  • promoting cultural enrichment activities
  • providing students with opportunities to develop good decision making skills
